Doom Patrol #13 review

For over 12 months, Giffen, Clark et al have been bringing us fun, enjoyable, humorous and quality issues of Doom Patrol - but #13 takes the cake. I expected an exciting, progressive and entertaining story - and I got a whole lot more (and still only $2.99!!).

Rita's story is clearly one of tragedy, and the creative team have successfully conveyed that tragedy through the writing and artwork. No character is left untouched by the revelations in this issue and very few stones are left unturned. I also find it so poignant that no original member is exactly as they used to be - they've all faced their own 'doom', and survived through it, thanks to the Chief.

This is undoubtedly my favourite issue of the series. It made me feel for Rita, her situation, her past and her present. In a world where so many comics are forgotten, this is one to be remembered.

5/5
