Newsarama has featured an excellent interview with Keith Giffen. Like his comics, it's not a two-minute read, by any means!
He discusses upcoming issues of the Doom Patrol (including a future spotlight on Cliff!) and clarifies some of the writing techniques he uses on this series. Overall, he seemed very positive about Doom Patrol's future.
